ALEXANDRIA, VA - The 52nd Annual Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade was sponsored by Wegmans in historic Old Town Alexandria at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Dozens of Scottish clans dressed in colorful tartans paraded through the streets of Old Town, joined by pipe and drum bands, as well as terriers and hounds, community groups and more.

(Updated 9:35 p.m.) It was overcast and cool — the perfect weather for the Campagna Center's 52nd Scottish Christmas Walk Parade.. The parade is one of the most popular events in the city, bringing thousands of participants, including Irish dancers, historic reenactors and the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums.It is considered the highlight of a weekend full of events.

The one-mile-long parade starts at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Wolfe and St. Asaph streets, and travels north to Queen Street, then turns right (east toward the Potomac River) on Queen for three blocks, turns right on Fairfax Street, right on King Street and then concludes at the reviewing stand in front of City Hall (301 King Street).

Scottish Walk Parade Details: The parade will be in Old Town on December 3, at 11am. It begins at the corner of St. Asaph Street and Wolfe Street..
