They basically cost 10 to 50x what an ascended item of the same type might cost to make. Essentially for the cost of making twilight you can totally gear out 2-3 entire characters in bis gear.

OP must have bought each component (no orders, no farming or crafting). 1300 gold has to be the most expensive estimate I've heard for Dusk. That 1300 must have included leveling Weaponsmith up to 500 too. I'm on Tier 2 of Dusk. Everyone says this is the most expensive part of the process.
